Project Skunkworks... Continued.
The cockpit! This truck will receive a FULL compliment of instrumentation. That means 9 Glowshift gauges to monitor vital signs.
Do we NEED 9 gauges? No. But use SA-10 pods, and recommend them, and my latest account is Glowshift gauges. I am monitoring everything, and using this Expedition as a demonstrator or "Rolling Business Card".
Originally equipped with a full Leather interior, in medium grey, all interior modifications are being made in matte BLACK to offset the grey, and the effect is looking awesome. There are a couple of additional pieces i am committing to black to really make a nice effect in the interior. SA-10 pieces are OEM hand formed to fit our trucks. But they are subtle, and that is what makes a sleeper. The details. Or lack of.
To Here is an image of the type of gauges to be installed. Manufactured by GlowShift, these pieces are easy to install, relatively inexpensive, and multifunctional. In addition, you can choose the background LED colors. Most senders are included.
Call for details... And see more here...Including manuals and videos! www.glowshift.com
I will use a combination of PURPLE AND GREEN.
This is what the "A" Pillar pod will look like, in purple and green... But the Expedition OEM cluster has a GREEN backlight, so all 9 gauges seen here will surround the stock cluster and center stereo and A/C controls with purple gauges. That is unless you can find a better mix with the green. You will have 7 LED color choices. ;)
A look at the instrument cluster, with the EXACT gauges I have installed, switches included here on this Mustang. Image depicts exact color scheme I will be using on Project Skunkworks.
A custom pod will surround the stock instruments and will contain an additional 2 gauges, to the far left of the cluster.
This was the layout on Project 02. RED AND GREEN. With a very little YELLOW mixed in. Now all lightning and optics are controlled by OEM switches, therefore, form follows function, and there are no switches for auxilary lighting. Hell, I don't need auxilary lighting! Only two switches needed on Skunkworks. Heh!
The LATEST TECHNOLOGY in my LATEST PROJECT. Not a race truck, but it really is not a sleeper as you may think.
Now you can see the merits of the custom OEM designs that work perfectly, fit perfectly, and look totally BAD ASS! SA-10 pieces are right at home with the Lo-Tek "A" pillar pod and Autometer column pod.
Thank you George (SA-10 on Faccebook)... For an OEM look!
And this is the center console pod installed, waiting for gauges to find their homes. Fit and finish are excellent, and in black, the SA-10 colsole and cluster pods really offset the grey interior very nicely!SA-10 DEFINES mounting solutions for our trucks! I have done this professionally for 15 years. None better than George.
And I have multiple choices in the event I need to add a fuse and switch panel. That little RED LED means you are getting blasted by 55w HID takedown flood lamps. You will need to pull over sir. these will probably be used in conjunction with and in addition to HID HI beams, LED fogs, the works... You get 3 flashes to pass, then I will BUZZ you. I am not mad, I just want to get away from you.
The fire extinguisher is self explanatory.
Here is a shot of the interior. All SA-10, Autometer and LO-TEK pods. 9 Glowshift gauges will ship this week. Completed interior pics coming as soon as the gauges are installed.
These images do not do the SA-10 pods or the Glowshift gauges justice. More to come when lit and connected. Progress posted for George as promised. All 9 gauges are mounted covertly. In an OEM fashion, in OEM piece! Nice work George!
All gauges will be purple, to go with the OEM cluster lighting. Purple and green go well together...
Here is a nice video of the pods and gauges installed. They will be wired soon. I will post more as I have it.
VIDEO OF ALL PODS AND INSTRUMENTATION INSTALLED. Wired video is coming!
